Hi! Thank you for checking out Sudo Solution and Left Off! I've recently been inspired to share my journey building a mobile app and thought, why not do so here on the website. I thought it would be specifically interesting that I have decided to continue to build an app in 2025 given that:
AI is advancing faster than ever. (Side note: I haven't used AI to write this blog. I won't say that I'll never use it to help write the blog, but I don't want to use it much, if at all.)
apps are not a new thing, and
there's a lot of competition.
I have responses for each of those points that I plan to post about soon, but for now, I'll just ask: Wouldn't you be sad if your favorite artist(s) thought this about music and decided never to write another song?
Hopefully you anserwed "Yes" and are still reading. If so, Thank you! I'm on the way to accomplishing one of my main goals with this blog, which is to share my learnings while building something (hopefully) useful. I also plan to use the blog to share feature updates, share my challenges, solutions, and to connect with users and potential users.
As for topics, the tools that I use will heavily influence them. For Left Off, I currently use React Native to build and design the app and Google Firebase to store data. As you may have seen on the homepage, Left Off is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. That being said, some of the blog topics will include:
Challenges of building an app (design, promoting, testing)
React Native strategies
My opinions on app related topics
Process/challenges of publishing to the Apple App Store
Process/challenges of publishing to the Google Play Store
And much more!
This blog will certainly change over time, but overall I'm excited to share my experience and hopefully provide you with value in each post!

Wow didn’t know you made an app but just downloaded, looking forward to all that is to come!
I use the Left Off App, but wouldn’t know the first thing about how to actually build an app of my own. I’m interested in learning more about how to get started on building one from the ground up. Expanding my knowledge on social media and technological innovation will open my eyes to a myriad of possibilities. Let the games begin!
